Goggle Updates the Calendar App

Completely out of character, Google has distributed the Android 5.0 or “Lollipop” update to all Nexus devices. This renders my Nexus For Dummies titles instantly obsolete.

Android Email Solutions

One of the poorest things Android does is Email. First, Google’s Gmail is split off from the main Email program, which makes collecting and organizing all your email in one app an opaque task. Even within the Email app, weaknesses appear.

A Better USB Connector

Don’t get me wrong: The USB cable is genius. It improves upon a nightmare of cables that once festered behind every computer like a nest of snakes. The problem? While you have a 50 percent chance of plugging the cable in the proper way, you get it wrong about 80 percent of the time.

Android App Undo

I had an interesting email the other day: A user wanted to know how to disconnect an Android app from Facebook. She tried uninstalling the app, but that trick didn’t work. What did work was to clear the data.
