My Android, What Big Text You Have!

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

Where are the huge tablets? Trust me, they’re coming! Tablets may be popular today in the 7- to 10-inch size range, but eventually I see huge tablets appearing on the market. That will be a great choice for people who have trouble seeing a tablet’s tiny text. Until then, you can adjust text size on your tablet to something more readable. It’s cinchy.

The Desktop Screenshot

Every so often, I snap a picture of my Windows computer desktop. That may seem weird and dismissible, but I have a valid justification. Not only that, every so often I have to remind myself to do it.

Watch That Mobile Data!

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

My Droid Bionic, which I loathed and wrote about here, finally died. It just kept turning off and on, starting at about 3:00 AM. Finally, I yanked the battery, and vowed to head to the Verizon store to get a replacement.

Deal With That E

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

This is a topic that bugs me, not only as a technology nerd but as a writer. How do you deal with the E, that ever-present E that prefixes technology terms as if English were somehow Hungarian and employed word prefixes. What. The. Heck?

Which Android Version?

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

The whole version thing has really become obsessive. Even in the old days, before versions were given cute nicknames (thank you, Apple), people were aware of which software version they had. Today it’s become obnoxious.

I Miss Microsoft Gadgets

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

Way back when, my observation was that Windows Gadgets were a weak attempt to copy the Widgets feature form the Mac OS X Dashboard. The Dashboard feature was introduced with OS X 10.4 “Tiger” back in April of 2005. Gadgets, officially known as Microsoft Gadgets, were introduced with the Windows Sidebar feature in Windows Vista, January 2007.

Copy. Cat.
