In the command prompt world of DOS, folders were called directories. Once the transition to the glorious graphical goodness of Windows was made, directories became folders. They’re still the same thing.

As a computer user, you’re probably adult enough to understand that lots of hidden goodies dwell behind the operating system’s delicious visual interface. Most of those goodies are things you probably don’t want to mess with, but because Windows isn’t the most complete, well-thought-out operating system, the need to go digital spelunking is often necessary.

Google Calendar Update

A very minor update to Google Calendar has been released. It doesn’t change the look of the calendar, but it does fix an annoying issue: Events dismissed on one device are dismissed on all devices accessing the Calendar. So if you get a notice on your phone and dismiss it, you won’t see the same notification on your tablet or PC. Nice.

Office 365 Available for Android

Microsoft has released an Office app for your Android device. That’s the good news!

The bad news is that you need an Office 365 subscription to make the app worthy. Office 365 has a free trial period, but after that you need to pay to edit your documents online.


Revisions Marks On!

If you’re the only one working on a document, great. You know what you’ve changed, and you’ve probably changed it because you want it that way. But in the world of collaboration, revision marks become necessary. That’s when things can get ugly, not only emotionally but visually as well.

Search with the New Maps App
