One of the nifty things about the modern computing age is that you don’t have to wait months to read about an operating system upgrade. July 29, 2015It’s Windows 10 DayHere it is! Supposedly, sometime today, all those computers that are scheduled to get the free Windows 10 update will enjoy the potential of the update. I can’t wait! In fact, quite a few popular games offer that type of device input over using the traditional keyboard and mouse. You can’t plug an Xbox controller into a PC. It doesn’t work. But Xbox-style controllers are available. They come with a USB connector. Plug it in and go, right? Not so fast. July 13, 2015Paid by the LineWhat’s it like to be paid, not by the word, but by the line? I found out the other day. A reader asked how Word could be configured so that it counted all the lines of text in a document because that’s how she gets paid.
