I Think I’m in Love

I was wrong about computers. As it turns out, I really enjoy them and I love to program. I find it relaxing, like working a puzzle. Assembly language was my favorite programming language due to its delightfully cryptic nature. Now I’ve found a language even more cryptic, almost to the point of being insane.

Do You Miss Word 2013’s Open Dialog Box?

Word 2013 unceremoniously dispensed with the traditional Open dialog box. It was replaced with something called Back Stage. You can get the Open dialog box back, but only when you know the secret.

Complaining about airport security isn’t anything new. What is new, however, is the commonplace acceptance of technology by TSA personnel. Items such as cell phones, tablets, and laptops, breeze through the checkpoint these days. That wasn’t always the case.

Un-Assigning a Word Keyboard Shortcut

It’s easy to screw up, especially with a computer. Imagine your frustration at accidentally typing Ctrl+W — the DocClose, or close window, command — and not looking at the screen to see the Yes/No prompt. You could lose a document that way.
