Chrome and Web Security

Back in August, I wrote how I updated Wambooli to https, the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) URL. This move was done to avoid a warning that Google informed me would appear in the Chrome browser. Well, here it is in mid-October, just when Chrome is supposed to display the warning. So where it is?

The Hunt for a Useful 21:9 Monitor

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

As people keep setting two widescreen monitors side-by-side as a common computer configuration, the question arises: Why not just make one, big, wide, monitor?

Location Technology and Security

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

A while back, someone panicked. They realized that all their mobile device’s photos had a GEO-TAG, or location data, merged with the image. Ten Hours Without Internet

When I upgraded my Internet recently, I received a new modem. It was flakey, so I exchanged it. We’ve had good service since then and I’m quite pleased. Now when the modem goes from three happy lights to one sad and one blinking light, I know it’s the cable service and not the device to blame.

Thoughts on the iPhone X

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

This past week, I watched Tim Cook & Co. unveil all their new Apple toys. I’m a Mac user, so I was waiting for a new Mac Pro or anything on that front. I have low expectations from Apple, so I wasn’t disappointed: No news was offered on the computer front. Oh well.

Another Title, But Not Really

I do most of my programming stuff on my C For Dummies website, but I thought I’d relate my recent self-publishing efforts here on Wambooli. The TL;DR version: You can now self-publish print books as well as eBooks on Kindle.
