The Boring Future

Dvorak book cover
I don’t see why people are fussing so much over Steve Jobs and Apple. Mr. Jobs will eventually leave the company. It will go on without him. It won’t be sexy, but then the computer industry hasn’t been sexy in a long time, nor has it really needed Steve Jobs. This was predicted.

Are Viruses Relevant Any More?

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

Think about it: How long has it been since you’ve seen the bubble heads on the media go all pop-eyed over a computer virus?

What’s with the Squares?

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

You’ve probably seen them, puzzled over them or perhaps just let them go. They infect web pages galore, but you can find them in chat rooms or anywhere you may encounter computers from overseas. They’re the mystery squares. Let me explain what’s going on.

New Years Resolution

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

I just reviewed a list of popular New Years resolutions here in the US. What amazes me is that most, if not all, of the items in the list center around the topic of self-control. Making Labels

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

Microsoft Word has the ability to make labels. You can make a sheet of identical labels or merge a list of names into different labels. I explain it all in my Word For Dummies books. Even so, I don’t use Word to make labels. In fact, I just did my Christmas list using a program I’ve had for years. It’s great. It’s free. It’s from the Avery Label people.
