October 23, 2012Apple’s Fusion DriveBeyond the iPad mini, today Apple announced a new hybrid SSD and HDD called the Fusion drive. Apparently it uses basic Hard Disk drive (HDD) technology bolstered with Solid State drive (SSD) technology. Don’t know how that would work. Based on my knowledge (and personal experience in) computer history, it sounds like a fad. It’s seems like a half-step between traditional hard drives and the SSDs of tomorrow.
