Don’t sweat it: The latest Android update is more of a maintenance release than anything else. If it’s available for your mobile device, then you’ll see an update notification, otherwise it’s nothing to worry about.

Android 4.4.3 is Here

Relax: It’s not a major update. The point-three part of the release number isn’t even considered a minor release. This update fixes some bugs and addresses other issues. It’s still Android version KitKat.

I hope you haven’t suffered the indignity of being hacked. Easy passwords are easy to steal. It doesn’t surprise me when I see some spam email from a friend’s account, but it does surprise me when that friend is someone I figure should know better.

Mass image manipulation best takes place in the Gallery app on your Android phone or tablet. And the best way to remove a swath of images is to view them all in an album. This is a far superior approach to sharing or deleting individual images one a time.

More Orders for Google Now

Google has recently added two new commands to the list of orders you can bark at Google Voice:

OK Google Take a Picture

and

OK Google, Record a Video

These commands start the Camera app in the proper mode. You still need to touch the screen to manipulate the Camera app.

In my Android For Dummies titles, I discuss how music can be copied from a Windows PC to an Android tablet. You can use the same techniques to copy images and videos from your tablet to the PC. It’s probably the easiest way to get those images from one device to another.
