Wrap Text Around a Picture

When you stick a picture into a document, Word chooses the inline with text layout option. That’s fine for simple images and it’s pretty easy to understand and format. When you need to get fancy, and take your document formatting up a notch, you choose another layout option for the image.

The key is to use the Layout Options button, which appears near the top right of a selected picture or image. When you click that button, you see various layout options. Word features seven of them, which includes the default In Line With Text option.

To wrap text around the image, you can choose one of the four text-wrapping options, including my favorite, Square. The video below demonstrates how this option works and how you can use it to more professionally place an image in your document.
