Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

There’s a reason why people once bought a new computer every two years. That reason is gone now, and apparently no one has figured it out.

My New Samsung S8

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

I’m pleased with my new phone, but the purchase has also reminded me of something: The ordeal everyone goes through for a new phone. Because these devices are so integral to our lives, the upgrade isn’t the smooth and easy transition it once was.

My First New Car of the Decade

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

I don’t buy new cars often. When I do, I prefer to buy a new car as opposed to a used car. Yes, my father and everyone else told me how dumb that was, but I keep my cars for a long time. So I look at the cost over that period of time, as well as the maintenance costs added to the purchase of a used vehicle.

A More Secure Wambooli

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

Sadly, I’m familiar with alarming messages about this website. Typically, the email is from my provider who alerts me with a hacking attempt on the site — a result from their sloppy security, not mine. (Read more here.) Yet Another Tweak to Word 2016

I’m certain that the recent changes and updates I’ve seen in Word are due to my Office 365 subscription. I doubt that regular Word 2016 users have seen any changes, yet I’m going to write about them — and do videos — as new features appear.

The IBM Basic Handbook

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

The other day, I was looking over my personal library and noticed something missing: I didn’t have a copy of the IBM Basic Handbook (Figure 1). I was hired at CompuSoft Publishing specifically to help update that book’s second edition. It’s basically my first computer book, and I was disappointed that I didn’t have a copy.

Your Super Secret Email Address

Banking, shopping, and even paying your taxes can be done online. Unlike the 1990s, people are less paranoid about security, nor do they fret over typing in a credit card number. A secure website means you’re most likely safe, though you can still take extra precaution by using a super secret email address.
