sort button The icon looks innocent enough. It’s featured prominently in the Table Tools/Layout tab. But it also has a tiny twin in the Home tab’s Paragraph group. It’s the Sort icon.

Android 4.4.3 is Here

Relax: It’s not a major update. The point-three part of the release number isn’t even considered a minor release. This update fixes some bugs and addresses other issues. It’s still Android version KitKat.

OS X “Yosemite” Respects Desktop Users

Just last week, Apple introduced its latest update to OS X, the Macintosh operating system.

A Macintosh is a traditional computer, coming in desktop and laptop varieties. It is not a mobile device, like a tablet or phone. Apple gets that point, therefore their new operating system actually respects the computer user. Unlike Microsoft, which completely disrespected computer users with their awful Windows 8.

Wi-Fi All Over the House

Most people set up a home network that includes a Wi-Fi base station. Smart move: Given today’s portable gizmos, it makes sense for them all to gang up on the local network and eschew those mobile data surcharges.

When the Wi-Fi network doesn’t reach everywhere in the house, extend it with a Wi-Fi extender.

Table Formatting in Word

A table is really an Excel-thing. Word does tables, of course, but Excel does them better. Still, it’s easier to whip out a table in Word than it is to do the convoluted exercise of inserting an Excel “object” into a Word document.
