I go with the Das Keyboard line of mechanical keyboards, which are expensive but set a level of quality higher than the sad membrane keyboards that come with most computers. Read my keyboard rant here.

Even more expensive than the Das Keyboard, is the Razor Blackwidow keyboard, which my son purchased for his gaming needs. Like the Das Keyboard, the Razor is mechanical; the keys are pleasing to use and feature a delightful click as the mechanism engages. But more than the Das Keyboard, the Razor features a multicolor LED beneath every keycap.

Yes, the keyboard lights up, and not just all at once. It can generate patterns, which is fun, but it can also highlight specific keys for specific programs. It’s really quite amazing, as my son demonstrates in the video below.
