This is one I would prefer be enabled by the cellular carriers as opposed to the government. While it sounds good to have a cell phone kill switch, something you could remotely activate should your phone be lost or stolen, there are — as is always said about laws — unintended consequences.

The idea of the government being able to kill all our phones is just wrong.

Even if it’s not a law, and the manufacturers/cellular providers implement such a switch, what’s to prevent the government from accessing that information and abusing the feature?
