Many years ago, I was the editor of a local computer magazine in San Diego, California. With an eye toward being festive, I decided to flavor our annual Holiday issue with a bit of mirth and Christmas spirit. So I wrote some songs.

Inspired by Mad Magazine‘s musical parodies, I took some traditional Christmas songs and replaced the lyrics with my own, high-tech versions.

I believe the song’s first appearance was in 1987 or 1988. I did a reprise the following year, with even more songs.

About ten years ago, I re-published some of the original songs here on Wambooli. I also added a few more over time. The page is still up, but it’s not hot-linked. For your Christmas day enjoyment, here’s the link.

Originally, I had embedded MIDI tunes that played automatically on each page. Apparently that functionality is lost on modern web browsers, so feel free to carry your own tune as you sing the songs.
