Trackpads Are Here

Filed under: News — Tags: — admin @ 10:24 am

If you want to use Windows 8 but don’t want to pay a zillion dollars for a multi-touch monitor, there is finally a solution. Trackpads have arrived!

Similar to the Apple Magicpad (or whatever they call it), you can get a multi-touch trackpad for your PC. It sits alongside the computer keyboard, just like a second mouse. Rather than lose all sensation in your arm by swiping a touchscreen monitor, you can swipe the trackpad. It’s handy!

  1. Laptop owners have had this “luxury” for a couple months now – any Synaptics multi-touch trackpad can be used to emulate a touchscreen, provided you’re using the latest driver revision.

I’ve never been a fan of trackpads though; I like the little red pencil eraser 😀

  2. I should have mentioned that, LL: The trackpads for desktops basically give you laptop functionality. Mulit-touch is important. Windows 8 apparently can use up to five-points, though I don’t know specifically which command requires all five fingers.

The little pencil eraser is also a fav of mine, too, being an IBM/Lenovo laptop user. I still have an external mouse, though. 🙂
