The $21,000,000 Clock App

Filed under: News — admin @ 12:41 pm

Turns out that one of the clock faces you can use in an Apple clock app wasn’t that unique. How not unique? Well, not unique to the tune that Apple had to pay $21,000,000 to the design’s owner.

  1. I wonder why the designers were so insistent that the clock HAD to be that exact model, no matter the cost.

Wouldn’t it be more like Apple to just design a similar looking one and sue the Swiss National Railway?

  2. Apple seems to have shot themselves in the foot a lot recently. It has nothing to do with Jobs being gone; they’ve done that a lot. It’s just that we forget — or forgive because they occasionally do such great stuff. This one was rather boneheaded, though.

Wasn’t there an Apple system sound that they got sued over as well? Lemme check….

Well, that wasn’t a lawsuit, but you the picture.
