Check for the Malware!

Filed under: News — admin @ 12:30 pm

The Good Guys stopped some nasty malware going around, which redirected all your computer’s Internet traffic through some bogus name servers. The bad guys have been dealt with, but there’s still a lot of infected computers out there.

Check out the article below to learn more about the infection, and to check a link that determines whether your PC is infected or not.

  1. Dan- sorry, off topic, but something Im really curious about: You mentioned a long while back you might make a book on iPhone programming, Im wondering if anything has become of that. Also Id like to know what you think of programming for Mac, have you done any Cocoa/Carbon programming? Since you are already a C programmer I would imagine you already know half of Obj-C since it uses a strict subset of C. Have you used XCode, Textmate or Textwrangler?

  2. No problem!

The iPhone programming book is on hold forever, as far as I know. The publisher had an idea about “books for teenagers” and, well, teenagers don’t buy books. So that’s probably what happened to that idea.

I’ve not done any serious Mac programming. I’ve dabbled, but just don’t have the time to commit to any big projects. I’ve written Java programs that run on the Mac, but that’s about it. Objective C is not C, as much as any other C-based language is, and I haven’t really written any code in it, so I can’t offer a personal opinion.

I do use TextWrangler to write my console programs on the Mac.
