Microsoft Drops Windows 8 Upgrade Prices

Filed under: News — admin @ 3:21 pm

Like anyone would care, the price to upgrade your existing Windows XP/Vista/7 computer to the travesty that is Windows 8 has been reduced. It’s a downloadable copy, for just under $40.

As someone who has been forced to use Windows 8 (granted, a beta copy) for the past few weeks, and I tell you that I’d happily pay $40 not to use it.

  1. Who cares if it’s $40? Even if Microsoft were to give it away for free, NO ONE would buy it. NO ONE with sense wants to buy it. And those who want to buy it need to submit themselves to a mental ward.

  2. Maybe I should look around on the Interwebs to see if there’s anyone out there who absolutely loves Windows 8. After all, there was the “Zune guy” on the Web, the guy who got a tattoo of the Zune logo on his arm.

  3. Okay, just came back from the Intertubes looking for articles about people who love Windows 8. There basically aren’t any. Two I found that are repeated over and over:

A Mac user who loves Windows 8 Is that the only guy they could find? The article is kind of empty.

The top 5 things you’ll like about Windows 8 This article reads like a press release, which it probably is. It fails to mention the bottom 995 things you’ll hate.

  4. I was looking forward to Windows 8 until I read this article. Clicking on the link “The top 5 things you’ll like about Windows 8” and seeing the mess the photos are in, has convinced me to take good care of my Vista and hope for a decent Windows 9.
