This year saw the end of the old PorchCam and the dawn of the new one.
The new PorchCam is infrared and has a larger format, plus it takes a picture only when you visit; the older PorchCam was on a schedule, so it captured more interesting things. Still, for your viewing pleasure, here is the year in review as seen by the electronic eyeball on my front porch.

Any decent snow this time of year? I live in way up north in Minnesota and we hardly have anything. Your cats have the best names by the way.

There’s snow on the ground now, mostly because it’s been cold and what snowed 5 days ago hasn’t melted. But it’s been very dry, unusually so. We’d normally have about 40 inches by now, but we’re in the low teens, if that. The ski resorts are doing well, but that’s about 2,000 feet higher than I am here.
Checking the forecast, it’s supposed to rain Wednesday, so the snow here will be all gone. Then it’s going to be warm for the first part of January. That we’re not having much of a winter yet doesn’t surprise me. It can kick ass in February, though. Still, it seems typical that we’ll have a non-winter every once in a while.
