Jobs is notoriously curt in his replies, which have been proven to be authentic. Some people find that charming. I’m guessing it’s just because he’s a jerk.

To be honest, I wouldn’t expect anything less from him. Whenever I read what he says, it comes over as condescending and rude.
The student in question was justified in what she said. If anything, the last email sent by her was the worst, not because it was rude, because she was frustrated. As a student myself, if I cannot get the answers I want I get frustrated as well.
She also said that she was a user of his company’s products and she was thinking of buying another Mac soon. If the CEO of the company whose products you loved wrote to you like that, would you continue to use them? I don’t think I would.
Maybe he was offended that she was using a BlackBerry and not an iPhone?

This issue ain’t over. Thanks to the Internet, Ms. Isaacs is going to see resolution. Jobs makes a large thud sound when he’s wrong. Listen for it.

That’s weird, I’ve been hearing large thud sounds since the early 80’s.
