Once upon a time, you received a Windows installation disc with your new PC. Then it became a “recovery” disc. Now you get nothing, though there may be a recovery partition on the hard drive. What good is that when the hard drive goes kablooey?

I know, I contacted my laptop manufacturer last week, and they want 30.00$ for a recovery disc! Time was, you could get ’em for free.

Well, time was that you paid for the discs with the purchase price, so they owed them to you. I suppose that’s money you pay that’s pocked by the dealer today.

I really could care less about the recovery discs or partition, since that’s where all the bloatware lives.
