January 19, 2013Declining PC Sales WorldwideMore evidence that the world’s consumers are switching to tablets and smartphones to replace their aging computers: Global PC sales declined nearly 5 precent last quarter. Yikes! In U.S., PC sales leaders are Hewlett-Packard followed by Dell. In third place, surprisingly, is Apple.

January 18, 2013Fake AutoText in Word 2007, 2010, and 2013Microsoft trained everyone to love AutoText from Word zero through Word 2003. Then that happy feature was abused in Word 2007, mugged in Word 2010, and stands for execution in the up-coming Word 2013. What’s an Autotext lover to do?

It adds grace to the onscreen keyboard by guessing the next best word and letting you choose that word without having to endure excess typing. But often it can lead to unbridled woe. |
