Mute Your Windows 10 Notifications

To me, the notification sound in Windows 10 sounds exactly like the first chord of the Simpsons TV show. So every time the Windows 10 computer chimes a notification, I start singing, “The Simpsons . . .” It’s annoying.

I think they’re funny, but I have no clue how they became so popular. You’ve probably seen them as well:

Even More Online Security

Several years ago, I visited a friend of mine who showed me a unique gizmo. She was a government employee and needed access to a secure email account. The gizmo, the size of a pocket watch, was a password generator.

Configuring a PC isn’t something you plan on doing often. It’s a necessary task, a mundane, administrative chore. And in Windows 10, the go-to place for making settings and changing configurations is . . . well, there are two places.

My Windows 10 Upgrade Ordeal

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

One of the nifty things about the modern computing age is that you don’t have to wait months to read about an operating system upgrade. For example, when DOS 5 came out, the magazines and other material on DOS 5 didn’t hit the shelves for weeks — and most of the early stuff was based on the beta, so it was wrong.

Here it is! Supposedly, sometime today, all those computers that are scheduled to get the free Windows 10 update will enjoy the potential of the update. I can’t wait!

Well, yeah, I can wait. In fact, I will be waiting most of the day.
