PCs for the Poor, Macs for the Rich

The popular myth is that a Mac is more expensive than a PC. The truth is that when you configure a Mac and PC with the same hardware and software, the cost is the same. Even so, when people bother to configure comparable systems, they go with the Mac. That makes sense to me.

Word Does Envelopes!

All PC printers come with an envelope slot or feeder. Getting the envelope into the printer doesn’t seem to be any big deal any more. Getting text on the envelope, however, is the big deal.

Battery Power

A laptop computer comes with two power sources. It can use power from the wall, just like a desktop computer. It can also run off battery power. Managing the two isn’t a problem, though it does raise some interesting issues.

Less Than Fabulous Restore

During my recent visit with PC disaster, I had the opportunity to put the PC’s Backup program to the test. Well, actually, I had the opportunity to the the PC’s Restore program to the test. The results were rather tepid.
