I’m starting to believe that Facebook will one day join AOL on the “Oh? You still use that?” heap of technology history.

June 26, 2014Android 4.4.4 is HereDon’t sweat it: The latest Android update is more of a maintenance release than anything else. If it’s available for your mobile device, then you’ll see an update notification, otherwise it’s nothing to worry about.

June 14, 2014What Happens when Driverless Cars CrashWell, it’s a mess, of course, but when a driverless car crashes, whose fault is it? Obviously, software has made a decision, seeing that no human powered the vehicle. Can that software be sued? And what about the moral implications of a decision-making during a collision?

June 9, 2014OS X “Yosemite” Respects Desktop UsersJust last week, Apple introduced its latest update to OS X, the Macintosh operating system. A Macintosh is a traditional computer, coming in desktop and laptop varieties. It is not a mobile device, like a tablet or phone. Apple gets that point, therefore their new operating system actually respects the computer user. Unlike Microsoft, which completely disrespected computer users with their awful Windows 8.

June 2, 2014Dumb Format Wars: 4K VersionThe next big battle in home technology formats is the 4K TV. It may not be the last, but according to the article (link below), it’s rapidly proving to be one of the most stupid. May 29, 2014Windows 8 Has Come to ThisMicrosoft is now giving away copies of Windows 8. Don’t worry about standing in line any time soon: Copies are being given away only to hardware manufacturers. Specifically, manufacturers of mobile devices. Microsoft is eager to get a chunk of that market and they figure giving away their operating system is the best way. My prediction: This will succeed. Zillions of low-end phone and tablet manufacturers will flood the market with cheap-o Windows 8 mobile devices. That may not make Windows 8 any more popular, although it the action fails, I can proudly say, “Windows 8: They couldn’t even give it away.”
