Anonymous Targets Facebook

Filed under: News — admin @ 8:32 am

This November 5, which is Guy Fawkes day, the hacker group Anonymous is going to target social networking giant Facebook for certain death. The group has its grievances, listed in the article linked to below. Can they do it? Does it matter? What if Facebook just randomly decides to crash that day? How would we know?

  1. theyre mostly all just skiddies who run ddos attacks, theyre actually doing corporate IT infrastructure a favor by showing how non-existent security is and hopefully forcing investment in more serious white hat hacker security

  2. Good point. I happen to agree with their sentiments regarding Facebook security and honesty. If they can get Facebook to clean up some of its issue, then good for them. But I do not approve of illegal activities to meet those results.

  3. The privacy settings on Facebook are indeed changed on a whim, surly it would be more pro active for them to hack Facebok and then tell about the security holes they have found rather than just take the whole thing down, what is that going to prove. I’m sure even people who work for Anonymous have a Facebook account, and there is just no excuse for taking down a service that millions of people depend on.
