No, you won’t find that blog here on Wambooli. PC Live fills a gap in an era where big companies don’t really want to deal with customers, provide you with service, or offer tech support. Basically, they’re there to help.

It works like this: You can phone up PC Live toll-free (888-725-4836), 24-hours a day. For a flat fee they’ll fix your computer. That includes everything from tune-ups to removing viruses and Trojans, to all kinds of issues, installation, Windows Vista, protecting yourself on the Internet, dealing with slow computers, and on and on.

If need be, the PC Live technicians will connect to your PC over the Internet to diagnose things. When they can’t fix it, you don’t pay. And they won’t dismiss you after 12 minutes, or direct you to re-install Windows, if the problem cannot be fixed. In fact, if the problem cannot be fixed, you don’t pay them.

The fee is just under $60, which is a heck of a lot cheaper (and more environmentally friendly) than having someone in an ugly car come out and visit your home or office.

I admire what the PC Live people are doing and believe them to be honest in their desire to help people use their computer. These folks aren’t in business just to make a quick buck. That’s why I support them, and that why you can read my troubleshooting blog, For PC’s Sake, five times a week over the next few months (perhaps longer).
