I know that I overpay for my Verizon account. A lot! It’s ridiculous. So much so, and so financially painful for many others, that lots of subscribers have made “the switch” to another carrier. That exodus is now affecting the company’s bottom line.

The thing is, Verizon has the best coverage of all providers. It’s signal goes everywhere, and it has more LTE locations. But they just put you in a headlock with their egregious terms and contracts. In my mind, I’m okay paying about $40 per month for each phone and $10 for a mobile device. I should get 10GB of data for that. As it stands, I pay more like $70 per month for each phone and get only 4GB of data (shared).

I’m pretty sure Verizon has a better plan for me, but they aren’t exactly beating down my door to get me to sign up. I’d have to go to Verizon and then — my guess — I’d have to extend all my phone contracts. That’s just a guess, but it’s what I would expect from them and it’s not what I want: More fees.

Perhaps the bottom line pinch that Big Red is feeling on Wall Street will convince them to provide better service at a better cost? Try not to laugh; it’s worked before.

Insider Monkey

[6

post-6964","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-wambooli-news
["GET
