The battle rages! In this case, the turf is your local school. Trust me: Under the typical yuppie’s Christmas tree, you’ll find an iPad, not a Chromebook. In school, however, educators are enjoying the flexibility of the Chromebook over the iPad. To me, this change is obvious.

\nFirst, Chromebooks are cheaper than an iPad. They offer about the same size screen, but a full-action keyboard, like a laptop. They run the Chrome web browser and that’s about it. You can get apps for Chrome, but mostly you visit web pages. And with Google Docs, you can use productivity software easily on a Chromebook, which is something the iPad is still suffering through.<\/p>\n
I find myself using my own Chromebook frequently. I took it to the car dealer the last time I got my oil changed. The primary reason is that the battery lasts so much longer than my laptop, so I know I don’t have to plug it in anywhere; I can just find a cubbyhole somewhere and work.<\/p>\n
