Once upon a time, I loved my phone. It was awesome! It grew even more awesome when I bought the battery pack upgrade and could make it through an entire day without a recharge. But now? I hate my phone.

\nI’m currently using a Droid Bionic as my main phone. The issue I have with it is that it’s a slug. It’s just monstrously slow.<\/p>\n
The reason I know it’s slow is that I use many Android devices, and they’re all quite peppy. But the Bionic drags in even the most simple actions. Sure, it’s odd to be impatient over a two or three second delay, but these days technology has no excuse to linger.<\/p>\n
Yes, I’ve done all the tricks to speed it up: I’ve completely wiped out the local storage and caches to try and clear the thing’s head. Those tricks didn’t work.<\/p>\n
So at this point, I’m pondering whether or not to get a new phone now or wait until the better phones come out in a little while.<\/p>\n
The Bionic is at the end of my cellular contract, so there’s no early termination fees looming on the horizon, which adds to the upgrade temptation.<\/p>\n
I’ve narrowed my choices to two replacement devices: One that’s available now and one that’s rumored to be coming soon.<\/p>\n
The phone that’s available now is the Galaxy Note Two. I wrote a book on the first Galaxy Note, but the publisher hasn’t allowed an update to cover the Two. That’s cool; I could always do a quick eBook on the Two if there’s enough interest. Regardless, the Galaxy Note is a great phone, big screen, and fast enough to satisfy me.<\/p>\n
The phone that’s rumored is the legendary X Phone from Motorola\/Google. That’s the phone they’re calling the iPhone Killer.<\/p>\n
I don’t see how the X Phone could be any more different from the Nexus 4, Google’s current phone, but apparently there’s something \u00fcber cool about the device that’s making the Android fanboys drool. Everyone will probably know more details after the Consumer Electronics Show next week. At least, I hope we do.<\/p>\n
Until I decide, I’ll have to tolerate the Droid Bionic’s epic lethargy. As long as I don’t witness the speed of some other phone, I’ll be okay. I hope.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
