I mean, it&#8217;s 1980s tech. Not exactly cutting edge. Sure, it took ten years before having a CD player in your computer was common, but still the CD is old school.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nNo surprise then that Ford is yanking CD players from their new model cars. The trend is starting in Europe, but I won&#8217;t be surprised if autos around the world lose their CD players before the end of the decade.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to media cards, CDs are bulky and awkward. On a per-square-centimeter basis, CDs are data pigs. They gotta go!<\/p>\n<p>To replace them, I predict you&#8217;ll see AUX jacks, USB ports, and eventually media card slots. Kudos to the car company that does that first.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone old enough to remember cassette players in cars?
