Time for my annual round-up of what&#8217;s just plain stupid out there, and a reminder of why I dislike this type of practical joke.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nYouTube isn&#8217;t being nasty, but they&#8217;re claiming that the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iDe4v318f64&#038;feature=featured&#038;textp=fool\" target=\"_blank\">text mode<\/a> for viewing videos will save on bandwidth.<\/p>\n<p>Google renamed itself Topeka, which is a take-off on various cities around the US renaming themselves Google to get attention (and potential Google jobs).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/topeka.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/topeka-300x124.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"topeka\" width=\"300\" height=\"124\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/topeka-300x124.png 300w, https:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/topeka.png 686w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is also a 3D icon on the Google Street View app, though I&#8217;m not sure if it really works when wearing 3D glasses:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/google-street.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/google-street-300x209.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"google-street\" width=\"300\" height=\"209\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/google-street-300x209.png 300w, https:\/\/www.wambooli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/google-street.png 543w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hulu has &#8220;leaked&#8221; a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hulu.com\/internal\/confidential\/the-initiative-chapter-1\" target=\"_blank\">secret internal training video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>ThinkGeek has a cool <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkgeek.com\/stuff\/41\/iCade.shtml?icpg=Carousel_iCade_1\" target=\"_blank\">iCade<\/a> dock for the iPad that&#8217;s worth a laugh.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s about all I could hunt down on a cursory search. I&#8217;m sure there might have been some nasty, misleading April Fools jokes.
