Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 7:49 am

I’m going [to try] to avoid my ongoing rant about whether new OS upgrades are needed annually, and just dive into what happened this past week: Google released the first prototype (not even a beta) of the next version of Android, P. It doesn’t even have a dessert name yet.

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

I thought I could live without an Android tablet. When my Pixel C died, I figured that I’d just wait until another Pixel came out or the next Galaxy Tab. I could wait no longer!

Screencasting Wars

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

It’s been a few years since we cut the cable. Now I have several choices for my viewing pleasure. I have my computer, my tablet, and my phone. I have a Nexus Player box on the Big TV. Android POP3 Email Coordination

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

A POP3 email server is the kind used by most ISPs (Internet Service Providers) for email delivery. For sending mail, the SMTP protocol is used. This is why both server types must be configured on an Android mobile gizmo when you add in your ISP (or similar) email account. Still, email coordination involves only delivery, which is where POP3 presents various issues.

Coordinating Email with Your Android Mobile Gizmo

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

A new message floats in on my phone. It’s Steve. I need to phone him, but I need to do so when I’m at my computer. Do I mark the message as “unread” so that I can pick it up again on the PC? And if I delete the message on my phone, is it also deleted on the computer?
