Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

In my Android For Dummies titles, I discuss how music can be copied from a Windows PC to an Android tablet. You can use the same techniques to copy images and videos from your tablet to the PC. It’s probably the easiest way to get those images from one device to another.

Mozilla Kills Firefox – For Windows 8!

Filed under: News — admin @ 7:52 am

This is hilarious!

Mozilla designed a version of their Firefox web browser to run on Windows 8, you know, in the silly tile interface.

No one tested it.

No one.

So Mozilla pulled the plug on the entire project.

US Gives Up Internet Control

Filed under: News — admin @ 3:25 pm

The United States has finally pulled out of ruling the Internet. The job is now left up to the non-government agency, ICANN. It’s a good move.

Well, then again, as has been shown around the world, when governments want to, they can shut down the Internet. I believe this act is more of a formality than any surrender of the Internet. Power outages aren’t good things for any computer. When a branch fell on the power line behind my house, I heard a loud explosion. Then I heard all the UPS systems in the office start bleeting their warnings. Power was out, time to shutdown the computers and wait.

Your Passwords, Please

Filed under: News — admin @ 10:27 am

Anyone who has access to an unsecured computer, phone, or tablet has instant access to all your online password — providing that they know where to look.

I view this risk as yet another reason you should be very careful with your electronics. Secure passwords on a phone or tablet? Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.
