A Political Dilemma

Since the early 1990s, when my writing career first took off, I’ve taken advantage of the US President’s picture in my books. To avoid legal entanglements, I use a public domain image of a well-recognized figure. I choose the US President’s image as a tradition, but now I’m having trepidations.

Introducing Word’s Page Movement Group

I’m not sure if this update applies to all versions of Word 2016 or just the Office 365 release, but here it is: Document flow can be altered in Print Layout view so that pages in flow right-to-left instead of top-to-bottom. I figure this change came about because nearly all PC monitors these days are widescreen.

The Quest for Floppy, Part III

In our last episode, I had ordered an $8 adapter, a male-to-male PATA adapter, so that I could use a $30 USB gizmo to read a 5¼-inch floppy diskette on a modern PC.

The gizmo has finally arrived. From China. Via their version of snail mail. But it’s here!

It was just earlier this month when I pondered in a post about the impending arrival of Windows 10.1. It finally appeared this past week, the first major update to the Windows operating system since Windows 10 debuted nearly two years ago.

ZOMG! Political Panic Over Your Data

Recently, someone on the Internet wrote that Donald Trump could cure cancer and you’d still have people out protesting about it. The problem with our politically-charged environment is that people take their orders from the media or from political parties before they stop to think. As a case in point, the Trump administration repealed a recent rule made by the Obama administration regarding Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
