Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

Getting a new phone not only involves the toils of configuration, you also experience the pain and delight of its new features. On that front, Samsung never disappoints.

Stop the Boop-De-Doop

It’s something you hear when you connect a thumb drive. It’s something you puzzle about when the noise happens randomly. It’s the boo-doop, which is what I call the default sound that plays in Windows when a new devices is added.

Here’s How to Spice Up PC Sales

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

There’s a reason why people once bought a new computer every two years. That reason is gone now, and apparently no one has figured it out.

My New Samsung S8

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

I’m pleased with my new phone, but the purchase has also reminded me of something: The ordeal everyone goes through for a new phone. Because these devices are so integral to our lives, the upgrade isn’t the smooth and easy transition it once was.

My First New Car of the Decade

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

I don’t buy new cars often. When I do, I prefer to buy a new car as opposed to a used car. Yes, my father and everyone else told me how dumb that was, but I keep my cars for a long time. Be My Guest

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

All major operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS, and Android, have features that let multiple people use a single device. That’s a great tool, but not widely-used. In my books, I say that it’s easier to get a second device than to juggle multiple users on a single gizmo, especially a phone or tablet.

The Chrome web browser, however, has a simple shortcut: You can activate Guest Mode.

Yet Another Tweak to Word 2016

I’m certain that the recent changes and updates I’ve seen in Word are due to my Office 365 subscription. I doubt that regular Word 2016 users have seen any changes, yet I’m going to write about them — and do videos — as new features appear.

The IBM Basic Handbook

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

The other day, I was looking over my personal library and noticed something missing: I didn’t have a copy of the IBM Basic Handbook (Figure 1). I was hired at CompuSoft Publishing specifically to help update that book’s second edition. It’s basically my first computer book, and I was disappointed that I didn’t have a copy.
