Apple is Number Five!

According to IDC, the company that has all the numbers, Apple now ranks fifth for all computer sales worldwide. The numbers aren’t impressive overall, and historically Apple has never held a huge chunk of the market, but this new statistic is actually an increase.

Microsoft has been aggressively pushing its Surface tablet everywhere. They were highly visible on TV news anchor desks during Tuesday’s US elections. But if you looked closely, you’d see the tablets were merely propping up iPads, which is the mobile device the anchors were really using.

Microsoft and Dropbox are becoming BBFs.

Dropbox access will soon be integrated into Microsoft Office programs, allowing you to save documents to your Dropbox storage as easily as your computer’s own storage or to Microsoft’s OneDrive.

For mobile users, the Dropbox app will soon add features to help you edit and manage your Microsoft Office documents. That’s pretty keen.

47,700,000 Wi-Fi Hotspots and Counting

Researchers estimate that the world has one Wi-Fi hotspot for every 150 mobile data users, which includes phones, tablets, laptops, and you-name-it. France is number one for Wi-Fi hotspot availability, followed the UK and the US.

And in just four years time, the number of Wi-Fi hotspots could balloon to over 340,000,000.
