Banned In Vegas

Filed under: News — admin @ 8:22 am

The list of places that are banning Google Glass is growing! The latest addition are Las Vegas casinos, which seems obvious to me. The potential for cheating with the devices is astronomical!

I received an inquiry as to whether I’d be interested in writing a book on Google Glass. For moral reasons, I objected. The devices will not be cheap, which means I don’t think a For Dummies title would sell very well (although I’ve been wrong on that before). Google Glass is just creepy.

In all my years of watching the technology field, I’ve never seen anything so controversial — the gizmo hasn’t even been released to the general public yet.

Here’s something scary: Jerks who hijack your computer, including the web cam, and make your their slave. It’s entirely creepy.

Google About to Babble

Filed under: News — admin @ 5:18 pm

Ha! I predicted this. In a recent book, I was writing about all the different chat feature Google offers. There’s Talk, Voice, Messenger, and Google+. I opined, “It wouldn’t surprise me if you see the Talk app go away in favor of some other, general chat app. Or it may just be replaced by Google+.” Apparently the path is now set, and the app is going to be called Babble.

I’m not sure how the Galaxy S4 phone is such a disaster, but for being an iPhone “killer” Apple’s stock hopped up 11 points today.

Seattle Bar Bans Google Glasses

Filed under: News — admin @ 10:17 pm

It had to happen. The $1,500 specs that keep your eyeball constantly connected to the Internet are instantly unpopular in a certain Seattle area bar. If only they would have thought of this when cell phones first came out.
