Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

I’ve read statistics that say up to 36 percent of all Internet traffic is consumed by pornography. Curiously up to 40 percent of evening Internet traffic is used by Netflix. Therefore, I calculate that the remaining 24 percent is used by people reading this blog.

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

Configuring a PC isn’t something you plan on doing often. It’s a necessary task, a mundane, administrative chore. And in Windows 10, the go-to place for making settings and changing configurations is . . . well, there are two places.

My Windows 10 Upgrade Ordeal

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

One of the nifty things about the modern computing age is that you don’t have to wait months to read about an operating system upgrade. For example, when DOS 5 came out, the magazines and other material on DOS 5 didn’t hit the shelves for weeks — and most of the early stuff was based on the beta, so it was wrong.

It was once a struggle for me to get the high tech equipment I needed to write a book. Today, it’s no longer a struggle. In fact, the only struggle I have is what to do with all this high tech stuff once I’m done writing the book?

A SIMless Future

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

simcards

A majority of phones and tablets that access the Internet use a Subscriber Identity Module or SIM card. Its purpose is to provide an ID for your mobile device, one that’s used by a cellular provider to give the device service, a signal, and basically sort your phone or tablet out from the zillions of other phones or tablets.

My question is this: Does the mobile device really need a SIM card?
