Gmail Update - January 11, 2011 Google has released a new version of Gmail, an update to the current Gmail app. This update affects the way Gmail appears and how it's used which is, as these things go, different from what's published in the book. Message Composition The Gmail new message screen has changed slightly. The main difference is the addition of the Send and Save buttons on top the screen, as show in this figure:
The Send and Save as Draft buttons once existed on the bottom of the screen. In the new Compose screen (shown above), the buttons are icons on the top. Message Reply and Forwarding The primary difference is the addition of a collapsible toolbar at the top of a message window:
Touching the triangle on the button bar displays two more commands, Reply All and Forward:
And, as you would expect, touching the triangle button hides things again. Any additional updates to Gmail will be noted here on the Wambooli web site. |
