The Cover Page Has No Page Number, Part I

Microsoft Word isn’t very forgiving when it comes to a common task: Create a document with a cover page where the cover page doesn’t have any headers or footers or page numbers, but the next page does. And further: The next page starts page numbering with page 1 instead of page 2. Yes, it can be done, but it’s not pretty.

Gizmodo Gets Even on Apple

Yeah, Apple and Gizmodo have had at it since the folks at Giz found (paid for) a rogue iPhone 4. Even so, their article tearing apart the new device is top-notch:

No, that’s not the solution. Those are lame excuses for bad industrial design and engineering decision.

Google Voice Open to All

After a long beta, you can now sign up for Google Voice. It’s really difficult to describe what Google Voice does, other than it’s an über communications system that can be used as your voicemail service, to place free phone calls, and to manage phone calls.

Had It With the Hackers

I have really enjoyed playing the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It is a hell of a game, marvelous story, wonderful gameplay. But the online, multiplayer version of the game is riddled with hackers — cheaters who make the entire game a pitiful, pathetic joke.
