Monitor Your Data Usage in ICS

Filed under: Main — Tags: — admin @ 12:01 am

One of the keen updates to the Android operating system ICS, or “Ice Cream Sandwich,” is the ability to monitor how much data you’re using — and which apps are using that data. Just as watching battery life is important, for folks with limited data plans, monitoring the phone’s data usage is vital.

Nexus 7 Sells Like Hell

Filed under: News — admin @ 7:44 am

Apparently the Nexus 7 tablet has some good sales figures, up to one million units a month. I don’t know whether that makes it the second-most popular tablet after the iPad or not. Even with the automation the DOS prompt and robocopy bring to the file duplication process, it would stil be nice if the computer performed that task for you, automatically and on a schedule. In Windows, that chore falls to the Task Scheduler program.

Doing a Manual Backup Automatically, Part II

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

Assuming that you’ve read Monday’s blog post, you have a thumb drive that can handle a manual copy, or backup, of some important files. This blog post describes the DOS command used to actually copy over those files.
