Nexus 7 Running Slow? Here’s a Fix

Filed under: News — admin @ 9:34 pm

I’m passing this on from Droid-Life. Apparently the Google Currents app, called “Currents” on the App screen, can cause your tablet to slow down. I’ve not experienced this situation, but you might. The cure can be found by clicking the link:

Look at Some Junk

Filed under: Main — admin @ 12:01 am

The amount of spam or junk mail (yes, that kind of junk) has really gone down over the past few years. Things should stay that way until the spammers figure out how to spam you on Facebook. Or have they already done that?

The First Apple 1 Ever Sold

Filed under: News — admin @ 11:45 am

The article (below) shows some early pictures of the Apple 1 prototype, which was sold at the world’s first computer store, the Byte Shop, located in Mountain View, California. I never had an Apple 1, and I lusted for an Apple ][ computer. I finally obtained an Apple //c and then an Apple IIgs, but by then the Macintosh was the preferred Apple computer. It was a good run.

End of the Mouse

Filed under: News — admin @ 7:48 am

Could the famous, furless, ferocious computer pointing device be suddenly doomed? Apparently so. With all the touchscreen nonsense on smartphones, tablets, and now Windows 8, the world’s favorite computer pointing device may have a shortened lifespan, soon to join the floppy disk and the CD-ROM in the digital dumpster of destiny.

I remember my first computer mouse. I still have the manual! (There’s a future blog post…) It was a Microsoft two-button mouse. It came with Microsoft Paint as well as a programming guide. Yep, those were the days! The most recent mouse I purchased was a Microsoft Bluetooth wireless mouse. Times do change.

I Think They’ve Finally Figured Out Apple

Filed under: News — admin @ 9:29 am

As an Apple human myself, I’ve experienced the angst of getting the cool, envy-inducing new Apple gizmo, paying a premium price for it, showing it off, then having the better, jealousy-inducing upgrade pop up a few months later. I hate it. So do most people.

From the article (linked below):

The writer of this piece essentially said that while he likes the iPad Mini a lot, he is passing on this first edition and will wait for the next iteration because he expects improved technology and features.

Maybe word has gotten out? Could that explain why Apple’s stock price has dropped 20 percent from its all-time high?
