While people are nervous about the government spying on them (and with good reason), the real culprit in the information wars are those online services where you voluntarily divulge your own information. Take Google, for example.
Based on your use of Google services, as well as which ads you click on and what you search for, Google has built up a pretty handy profile. It knows what you look at, what you search for — even where you are on a particular day. It’s amazing stuff. Scary, yes, but amazing.
