I’ve thought about this myself: What if our universe isn’t real, but is a computer simulation. Or what would approximate a computer simulation on a grand scale?
The question I would have if this existence where simulated, ala The Matrix, would be “What’s the point?”
Let me get philosophical: Are we here voluntarily or are we sentenced to life? Either way, the process somehow involves losing most, if not all, memory of any prior existence. Apparently that’s one of the rules and pretty much everyone abides by it.
And how can you determine whether or not you’re in a simulation when the only tools available to you are built inside the same construct? It would be like looking for a glitch in a game, an exploit. But not every exploit can be utilized to determine the external environment. Etc.
Oh, I could prattle on for hours on such a topic.
