I don’t know which is worse, the lure of in-app advertising targeted at kids or parents who let their wee tots use electronics without supervision?

I’ve talked to people who give Apple crap for not giving them a refund, which makes no sense to me. If your unsupervised kid broke your TV you wouldn’t ring up Samsung and demand a refund. I don’t see why this is any different.

Actually, never mind, I wish I could edit comments. I saw the headline and assumed the story hadn’t changed. When I read it yesterday it said they didn’t get refunded.

This episode reminds me of the early days, after the breakup of the phone monopoly. There were various “976” numbers you could dial and pay a per minute call. It was the dawn of phone sex, but also dial-a-joke and other pay-per call numbers. Kids did the same thing back then, racking up thousand-dollar phone bills.
Nice to see that Apple is forgiving, but that may not last long!
