Dell Inc. took a stock market swan dive today, as its earnings fell 18% last quarter. The culprit? Declining sales to the consumer market.
That’s you and me.
It’s also what I’ve predicted: In the future, consumers will use their phones and tablets for just about all of the things they use PCs for today. Email. Facebook. The Web. Games. It’s all going over to mobile devices.
Face it: The PC would have died a lot sooner, but manufacturers were giving them away 15 years ago with “free” Internet service. Those systems are dying now and not being replaced. Well, not being replaced by PCs.
